Keeping up with Parco!
22nd September- 05 October
Hello again! I’m Pablo, and this week I had my mid-term exam. I was really excited because I saw a few people with whom I got along very well from my on-arrival, and we shared many great moments together. The mid-term focused on becoming more aware of the European Union and all the opportunities it offers for learning, such as youth exchanges, training courses, Youth Pass, and—most importantly—sharing our volunteer experiences. Everyone participating was from Italy and doing volunteer work here, which made the exchange even more meaningful.
1ºst Day
When everyone finally arrived, we engaged in various activities designed to help us get to know each other better. These included fun games, exercises for remembering names, and sharing what we like, among other things. There were many people from diverse countries, which made the experience even more interesting and enriching.
2ºnd day
The second day began at 9:30 am, and we spent time discussing how our experiences were unfolding, sharing meaningful moments and valuable lessons we had learned so far. Additionally, we engaged in group activities that encouraged teamwork and creativity. One exercise involved using two sheets of paper and an egg; we placed the egg in the center and had to throw the paper with the egg carefully, trying our best to ensure the egg did not break. This activity was both fun and challenging, fostering collaboration and problem-solving among participants.
3ºrd day
This day we participated in an activity focused on how we managed the difficult moments we are currently facing and reflected on why we chose this particular project instead of others, as well as what we have learned throughout the experience. Every activity held great significance because this choice to come here has proven to be the best decision I have ever made.
We had been talking extensively about the Youth Pass and all the various possibilities it offers for traveling and working abroad, as well as how the program functions in detail. Also, we participated in an activity focused on how to effectively face our problems, along with some practical tips for making the best possible decisions in challenging situations.
4ºth Day
Our last day, they gave us some useful tips for achieving our goals and explained how to make each step more realistic and manageable. They emphasized that when we want to accomplish something important, it’s common to set overly ambitious or unrealistic expectations, so breaking down the process into smaller, practical stages can help us stay motivated and focused.
In addition, we have been reflecting on how our work is reflected in our specific region of Italy. We are creating web pages dedicated to job searching, offering useful tips for improving your CV, and sharing other interesting and relevant information.
One important thing they explained was about this volunteer’s world and how it forms the essential structure that supports their activities.
Thank you for reading my blog!
See you soon, Pablo.
