Keeping Up with Parco!

16-29 June

Ebru speaking! This week was pretty youthful… with our youth exchange Unseen World. It took place the hidden gem of Bergolo, where we explored the art of video-making for social promotional purposes. The name of the project felt more fitting than ever in the unseen town called Bergolo, with its tiny cobbled streets and panoramic views, was the perfect unseen world to promote.

From the very first day, participants began discovering not only the town but also themselves. Through storytelling with photos, experimenting with in-camera editing, and recreating iconic scenes (yes, even Pulp Fiction as a soap opera!), diving deep into visual expression. We also collaborated with a local organizations nearby to create a social promotional videos, and by the end of the week, the participants proudly screened their works during a cozy evening gathering and later at our self-organized gala at the theatre.

Compared to that fast week, life slowed down a little after. We had what I’d call a “crossover episode” with the Parco Ladies aka Monesiglio Girls: Karla and I traveled from Monesiglio to Genova, while Natalia returned there from Slovakia. We reunited on the beach, letting the waves embrace us while the sun was greeting us with a bright smile.

Back in business mode, we visited Cassine and Bistagno as part of the Bormida Experience promotion and took photos of the towns as part of our work –okay, maybe also a little bit of personal photoshoot. Later in the week, we celebrated Eliza’s birthday, a true fairy among us, with a magical fairycore picnic in the forest. White dresses, flower crowns, candles... it was either a dream or a Midsommar scene (minus the horror).

As Karla’s final day in Monesiglio arrived, we all had ice cream in the piazza, spending time like Italians. La dolce vita e il gelato!

If you are curious about what’s next in Bergolo and Rome, wait for the next blog writing ^^
